The Keystone to Patient Treatment and Healing!
Harvey Family Chiropractic spends a great deal of time with each patient for each adjustment. Our treatment plans address areas of spinal concern, but also emphasize adjusting extremities such as feet, knees , shoulders, elbows and wrists. Ultimately, our goal is to assist the patient in achieving optimal body function in the least invasive yet most effective way possible. At Harvey Family Chiropractic, we choose from many adjustment techniques. Thes techniques vary from gentle to high intensity. The technique chosen is dependent on the age, condition, and needs of each individual. The first patient exam and diagnosis determine which techniques will result in the greatest benefit. Initial treatments are directed towards decreasing pain and promoting healing, with the ultimate goal of improving function and mechanics. As the patient finds relief and begins healing, an emphasis is placed on restoring joint motion and overcoming muscle imbalances. Education and Accountability are emphasized to the patient. True healing requires that the doctor and the patient are each working in tandem to get the most function out of the body!
What Exactly is a Chiropractic Adjustment?Spinal manipulations or adjustments are what distinguish doctors of chiropractic from any other type of health care professional. The term 'adjustment' refers to the specific force chiropractors apply to vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. Although the emphasis is on the spine, chiropractic can treat almost any joint in the body.
What are the Benefits of Chiropractic Adjustments? The objective of the Chiropractic Adjustment is to reduce subluxation. Subluxation is the partial dislocation of bones that leaves them misaligned but still in contact with one another. Chiropractic Adjustments result in an increased range of motion, reduced nerve irritability, reduced muscle spasm, reduced pain, and improved function. There is no therapy or profession that corrects segmental joint motion as well as chiropractic care.
What are the Common Reasons for Chiropractic Adjustments?Patients commonly visit chiropractors for back pain, especially in the lower back. Many others seek treatment for head, neck and extremity symptoms. |
